Moving Miles for Forests

At CHR, we believe in taking responsibility for the environmental impact of our work. In June 2020, we launched our CHR for Nature initiative as part of CSR to help both the environment and society. We have partnered with Trees for Life in the UK and the National Forest Foundation in the US to plant trees for certain aspects of our work that increase greenhouse emissions.

In July 2020, we launched our Moving Miles for Forests initiative. Through this initiative, we are planting trees based on the miles our employees cover through exercise. This will allow employees to improve their health, whether through walking, running, cycling, swimming, yoga or any other physical activity. Each mile logged helps to support our rewilding schemes.

To encourage the team to keep exercising during the pandemic, we are setting monthly team-based challenges, where a significant distance needs to be covered to reach the destination. The challenges will reflect the miles we would have travelled to reach some of the conferences we had planned to attend.

To date, we completed 5 challenges with more being launched throughout the year. So far, we visited:
• Cheshire, the home our CEO
• Porto and Milan, the home of our employees working remotely
• Barcelona, a popular conference venue
• Rovaniemi, the home of Santa Claus

The challenges have really helped the team in finding extra motivation, boosting their mental health and general wellbeing.
