WHAT WE DO

CHR provides strategic decision support and action planning, in addition to tailored landscape analyses, commercial opportunity assessments, market modelling and product sales forecasts, to a wide range of stakeholders in the life science and healthcare space. Our evaluation of market dynamics, combined with a targeted understanding of key trends in the prescriber, regulator, and payer environments, equips our clients to make the best decisions from an optimally informed position.

ILLUSTRATIVE LIST OF ENGAGEMENTS

AD HOC RESEARCH

A fast and targeted evaluation of a set number of key research questions to address critical business needs and aid decision making. Insights and analysis are normally delivered within 5 to 7 working days.

Sample Engagement

The client is evaluating whether to continue the clinical development of a Phase III asset and requires a current analysis of all Phase II/ III trials in the space for internal benchmarking  as well as an understanding of treatment algorithms updates and likely endpoint evolution over the next 5 years.

DEEP DIVE

To support major decisions, formulate new strategies or evaluate existing ones, companies often require thorough analysis of the market environment. Taking between 4-8 weeks, a deep-dive provides a clear and detailed understanding of the dynamics affecting a particular therapeutic area or business sector.

Sample Engagement

The client is preparing to launch a novel compound in the EU market and requires support and guidance in order to optimise the launch strategy and effectively communicate their value proposition to key stakeholders.

ACTIVE MARKET MONITORING

Monitoring is often initiated following a deep-dive to keep track of the evolving landscapes and to ensure that current assumptions underpinning our clients’ strategy remain accurate and up-to-date. Our clients are always the first to know about relevant commercial developments, which enables them to act and react in a timely manner. Monitoring projects are long-term partnerships lasting 6-12+ months.

Sample Engagement

The client has an established biologics portfolio and requires close monitoring of biosimilar player activity and regulator legislation change, in order to forge the right value proposition and forecast portfolio performance over the next 5-10 years.

CONFERENCE COVERAGE

We offer an independent presence at medical and commercial conferences, providing objective and impactful coverage. We do not simply report the facts, we analyse and evaluate them in light of our commercial and Therapy Area (TA) experience to deliver actionable recommendations.

Sample Engagement

A new product is launching at the upcoming European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) conference and the client team requires an evaluation of the new product’s commercial activities such as product messaging, positioning, geographic launch sequence, promotion and marketing activities, in addition to KOL endorsement mapping.

HOW WE DO IT

At CHR, our evidence-based recommendations are built on robust and transparent analysis. The team combine their collective experience of the sector to the strategy consulting tool-set, where generated hypotheses are subjected to iterative rounds of research and validation. Core research methodologies focus on:

Primary Research
Telephone and face-to-face interviews with innovator and therapy area KOLs, prescriber and patient organisation representatives, commercial and company sources as well as stakeholders within regulatory bodies and payer organisations.

Research Ethics
Cambridge Healthcare Research adheres to strict ethical codes of primary research, and complies with all clients’ ethical and legal codes.

Secondary Research
Systematic coverage of industry news, reports and publications, public and subscription databases, company financial statements, investor and R&D presentations, in addition to prescriber and disease community publications, treatment guidelines and websites

Secondary monitoring is performed using a proprietary combination of search engines, web crawlers and databases, with our partners leveraging their professional networks and language skills to gather information.

WHO WORKS WITH US

We collaborate with all major stakeholders within healthcare and the life science space, who require commercial and therapy area analysis to support their decision-making.

The following is a list of select key questions that we have addressed for our clients:

  • What is the current unmet need in this disease area? How can the patient pathway be improved?
  • What is the commercial opportunity for this novel technology/approach in this therapeutic area?
  • Should I invest in this space? What are the current barriers to accessing this patient segment?
  • Who is going to be on the market when I launch? And how does my Target Product Profile (TPP) compare to existing Standard of Care (SoC)?
  • What are the alternatives to my product? Are there any potential substitute products in development?
  • Is my Value Proposition up to date? How have updates to reimbursement guidelines affected uptake? When is the right time to conduct a Value Audit?
  • At what stage is the ‘closest to launch’ asset in its development cycle? Am I ready for it?
  • Where and when will the data be published? Are our current launch timeline assumptions correct?
